Helping Out

Volunteer

Volunteers are an important part of our organization.  We have a specific plan for those who can volunteer to help raise funds and create awareness in the community.

Volunteer activities include registering family, friends, business associates, and coworkers, and giving talks to groups and organizations.

Spread the Word

NorthWest Lung Inc. works to bring information to members of the community about the transplantation needs of both the donor and the people on the transplant list.

To learn more about organ donation and how to spread the word about this life saving choice please visit LifeCenter Northwest.

How will you promote donation? One aim of the partnership is an exchange of ideas, and a sharing of what works —to the benefit of everyone. We hope you will share your strategies, and ideas with us so that we can share with others through our website.

Please email us with information about the types of activities your organization plans to implement to  educate your employees, or members about organ donation. We recognize that new ideas emerge and plans change. We hope you will keep us updated as your plan evolves:

Become a NorthWest Lung Partner

Be a part of the “Lung Transplant Support Partner” Program and play a significant role in fostering awareness about transplantation. The “Lung Transplantation Support Partner” program is part of a regional northwest initiative launched by John Lee, a double lung transplant patient.  Through the “Lung Transplant Support Partner” Program we can join together to raise awareness about lung transplants. Partnership participants offer
employees or members an opportunity to learn about, discuss and make decisions concerning transplants and organ and tissue donation.

Through their own campaigns, or utilizing resources already in place by NorthWest Lung Inc., Partners are making a difference!

We share information about donation and transplantation with friends, family and coworkers and make personal decisions about donation known to family members. We can encourage others to give the greatest gift of all, the gift of life.

We are asking for a monthly donation commitment of $900.00 per month which would make you a full sponsor. This is the amount it takes to support one "residence house: per month.

If becoming a full sponsor is more than you manage, please become a co-sponsor and give a monthly amount that is within your means.
Unlike most other non-profit organizations, you can instantly see your donations at work. You can ask for the address of the "resident house" you sponsor and actually go and see it. If you would like, and subject to their willingness, you can also meet those transplant patients that have stayed in "your" unit.
